Brief
Developing skills in developing simulations using Working Model
and relating results from simulations with those obtained experimentally
and analytically.
Spring
experiment
The close-coiled helical spring is one of the most common
components used in all manner of devices. They can be found
in cars, in doors and in ball-point pens. To understand their
function and their models was of great importance. This experiment
helped achieved this understanding.
A simulation was developed
of the system using Working Model and was then replicated
by developing an analytical model in order to compare results
and accuracy.
